DESTIN, FLORIDA – UT Tyler women's golf has earned its second win of the 2025-26 season at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, while freshman
Lucy Kate Smith added her second individual title at Sandestin Resort & Club on Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first time that the Patriots have won two team titles in the same season since all the way back in the 2018-19 season. They collected wins over #18 St. Mary's, #10 Flagler, and eight other teams ranked inside the top 50.
UT Tyler came into the final round with a 17 shot lead and fired a 291 on Tuesday, the third lowest round in the field and enough to close out the tournament with an 11 shot win over the Rattlers.
Smith headed into Tuesday's final round down just one shot, and she played a near flawless round, making 16 pars, one birdie, and one bogey on her way to an even par 71. The final eight holes saw her shoot one under par, clearing the way for her to move up one spot on the individual leaderboard and earn her second career win.
Arnie Taguines and
Martha Laremark added rounds of 73 to the team tally, and
Emmerson Doyle rounded out team scoring with a 74. Taguines shot her 73 with a trio of birdies and 12 pars, while Laremark made two birdies to go with 12 pars of her own. Doyle made three birdies in her effort and also added 10 pars.
Taguines would slip four spots in the final round, but added another top 10 finish to her resume as she finished in a tie for ninth. Laremark and Doyle would each finish in a tie for 12
