ALPINE, TEXAS – UT Tyler tennis delivered a pair of strong performances on Thursday as they each earned a 7-0 win over Sul Ross State in LSC action. The #36 women now move to 3-0 in LSC play, and the #6 men are 2-1.

UT Tyler was completely dominant in the women's match, overwhelming the Lobos from the jump. They swept all three doubles matches in a score of 6-0, with wins coming from the pairs of

Maria Antonio Ortega,
Claudia Di Leonardo /
Luisa Moraes, and
Sabrina Pugh /
Emily Ryan.
In singles, they kept up the momentum, dropping just one game amongst the six matches as all six Patriots players recorded a straight sets win.
Natalia Gorzny won her match in the #1 line 6-0, 6-1, and Antonio Ortega added a 6-0, 6-0 win in line #2.
Line #3 featured Di Leonardo with a 6-0, 6-0 win, and Moraes added on another 6-0, 6-0 win in line #4.
The final two matches featured Pugh and Ryan, and they each earned 6-0, 6-0 wins. Pugh won in the #5 line, and Ryan won in the #6 line.

The men's match was much of the same for the Patriots, with them sweeping doubles and singles in dominant fashion. In doubles the pair of

In singles, the Patriots dropped just one game total in six matches, also finishing each match in straight sets. That run was led off by Poulesquen in line #1, taking two 6-0, 6-0 sets.
Jordi Garcia Portell in line #2 took wins in 6-1, 6-0.
Despodov and Short would follow in lines #3 and #4, each taking 6-0, 6-0 wins. The final two wins came in lines #5 and #6, with Japelj and Lassacher each totaling 6-0, 6-0 wins.
UT Tyler will now head to Silver City, New Mexico for a Saturday matchup with Western New Mexico. The Patriots women will play at 10 a.m. CT, while the men are scheduled for a 1 p.m. CT start time.
