RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler softball members Sydney Linn and Kendall Selitzky earned the first two Lone Star Conference Player of the Week awards for the Patriots of the year on Tuesday as announced by the conference.
 
UT Tyler swept then #1 West Texas A&M on Wednesday and then swept Eastern New Mexico on Friday to cap off a 4-0 weekend and move them to a seven game win streak and 24-4 in LSC play.
 
Sydney Linn, a junior outfielder from Wichita Falls, Texas, was named LSC Hitter of the Week after a big week at the plate in which she hit .454 over four games. She added three extra base hits, including one double, one triple, and one homer while scoring six runs. Against then #1 West Texas A&M, Linn had a two RBI single to help snap an 18 game winning streak and then scored the first run of the game to help sweep. Against Eastern New Mexico, She drilled a big three run blast to help spur the team to a run-rule win.
 
Kendall Selitzky, a sophomore pitcher from Henderson, Nevada, was lights out in the circle over her two starts. Against the Lady Buffs, she struck out seven batters while scattering seven hits and not allowing a run. That was the first shutout of the Lady Buffs of the season and first since May 16, 2025. Against Eastern New Mexico, she struck out nine batters in just five innings while allowing one hit.
 
Linn, Selitzky, and the Patriots will next face off against Texas Woman's in their lone LSC series of the week. That doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. at Irwin Field.
