COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – UT Tyler cross country competed at the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday morning, with the men's program placing seventh out of 14 teams and the women's program finishing 10th out of 13 teams.

The Patriot men recorded 240 points to finish seventh overall and were the highest-finishing non-Division I team in the field. UT Tyler was led by Kason Miles, who placed 44th overall with a time of 25:52.6 in the 8K. He was followed closely by teammate Andres Rios in 45th with a time of 25:53.3.

Miguel Cedillo crossed the finish line in 47th place at 25:57.6, while Dylan Navarrete placed 60th with a time of 26:12.8. Chris Kopecky rounded out the scoring five for the Patriots, finishing 63rd in 26:16.8 in the men's race that featured 132 runners.

On the women's side, the Patriots totaled 282 points to finish 10th out of 13 teams in the 5K. Macy Cogburn paced UT Tyler with a 20th-place finish, clocking 18:01.2 to record the fastest individual time among all non-Division I runners in the field.

Gracie Ladner was the second Patriot across the line, finishing 62nd with a time of 19:08. Finley Hunting followed in 78th at 19:30.2, while Giselle Alejandro crossed in 19:47.6. Calista Turner rounded out the scoring for UT Tyler with a time of 20:08.1.

The Patriots will return to action on October 3 at the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by Arkansas.
