BAHIA PRINCIPE, Mexico - The UT Tyler men's golf program wrapped up the second round of the 2026 DII Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya with a score of +2 (290) which ended up being one of the top scores overall. That score keeps the Patriots in third place heading into Tuesday's final round. UT Tyler improved by 13 strokes from their opening-round score and are just six shots off overall for the tournament lead.
Leading the way for the Patriots was
Blake Harwell, who jumped into sole possession of first place in the individual standings after shooting a tournament-best -4 (68) Monday. Harwell's six-birdie effort on Monday gave him a four-shot lead entering the final round.
Harwell was one of two Patriots to post rounds in the 60s during the second round. The other was
Corbin Murray who made the largest jump on the leaderboard, bouncing back from an opening-round 83 to shoot three under par (69) on Monday. The under par effort helped Murray climbed 30 spots into a tie for 14th overall at +8 (152) through 36 holes.
Preston Chabaud kept his spot inside the top 10 despite a tough second round. After beginning the tournament tied for fifth following a first-round 73, Chabaud enters the final round tied for 10th at +6 (150).
Preston DeSerrano continued his consistent play shooting a second straight round of 76, finishing day two tied for 14th overall at +8 (152).
Rounding out the Patriot lineup,
