TAHLEQUAH, OKLA. – The UT Tyler women's soccer team continued its early-season resilience on Saturday night, battling to a scoreless draw against Northeastern State at DeLoache Field. The Patriots outshot the RiverHawks 11-8 and generated five shots on goal while recording their first clean sheet of the season.
With the result, UT Tyler moved to 1-1-1 on the year after earning a point on the road against a Northeastern State squad that entered the match with a 2-1-1 record.
The Patriots created the better of the attacking opportunities throughout the evening, finishing with advantages in shots (11-8) and shots on goal (5-2). UT Tyler tested RiverHawks goalkeeper Juliette Langlet five times, but the home side's goalkeeper came through with five saves to preserve the draw.
UT Tyler's defense was equally impressive. Goalkeeper Robbi Curry recorded two saves and anchored a back line that limited Northeastern State to just two shots on target across 90 minutes.
The Patriots' first quality chance came midway through the opening half when Halli Keese forced a save in the 24th minute. Later in the half, Lily Moreno tested the RiverHawks again with a shot on frame, helping UT Tyler carry momentum into the intermission.
After halftime, UT Tyler continued to push for the breakthrough. Ella Anderson had an early second-half effort turned away before Ava Harris narrowly missed in the 54th minute. The Patriots nearly found a winner late when Carson Glenn forced another save in the 78th minute and Ava Harris put a shot on target in the 89th minute, but Northeastern State held firm.
Several Patriots contributed offensively, led by Ava Harris and Danica Anaya, who each recorded two shots. Ella Anderson, Carson Glenn, Halli Keese, and Lily Moreno each registered a shot on goal.
Defensively, UT Tyler showed discipline and organization against the RiverHawks, limiting dangerous chances and preserving the shutout despite facing four Northeastern State corner kicks.
The Patriots open LSC play on Wednesday, when they travel to Portales to face Eastern New Mexico.
