2020: Led UT Tyler offensively in its first NCAA Division II season as a first-year Lone Star Conference member… Batted a team-high .386 (22-for-57) and also led the team in home runs (7), RBIs (24), total bases (45), walks (17), slugging percentage (.789) and on-base percentage (.538)… Ranked second in the LSC in home runs and on-base percentage and finished fourth in the conference in RBIs … Started the season with a 12-game hitting streak which included an 11-game RBI streak… Claimed Desert Stinger Classic MVP honors after leading the Patriots to the tournament title with 3 home runs in 5 games while batting 9-for-12 in the season-opening tournament… Lifted UT Tyler to a 3-2 win over Arkansas-Monticello with a dramatic two-run walkoff home run… Hit another walkoff home run to wrap up a doubleheader sweep over #16 Texas A&M-Commerce in the Patriots’ Lone Star Conference-opening doubleheader… Hit a grand slam home run in a 17-15 win over No. 23-ranked Arkansas Tech… Had 7 multi-hit games and 7 multi-RBI games… Earned LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition in the spring semester.
2019: Named to NFCA all-region third team and All-ASC second team after an outstanding junior season… Batted .398 (35-for-88) with a team-high OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 1.289… Appeared in 37 games, starting 32 times… Led the team in walks (19) and tied for the team lead in home runs (8)… Also ranked third on the team in doubles (10) and fourth in RBIs (37)… Her .784 slugging percentage ranked second in the ASC… Finished the season on an 8-game hitting streak, batting ,464 (13-for-28) with 2 doubles, 3 home runs, and 13 RBIs during the final 8-game stretch… In the season-ending series sweep over UT Dallas, batted 5-for-9 with a double, 2 home runs, 4 runs, and 9 RBIs… Over the final 18 games of the season, batted .472 (24-for-52)… Had 10 multi-hit games on the year, including two in the final three-game series of the year… Went 2-for-3 with 3 runs and 5 RBIs in a 17-5 win over UT Dallas in the second-to-last game of the season.
PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Played two seasons at McLennan Community College in Waco… Earned North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) all-conference second team honors after her 2017 sophomore season, when she batted .398 (68-for-171) with 14 doubles, 13 home runs, and 61 RBIs… Was also named to the NTJCAC All-Academic Team… As a 2016 freshman, helped lead McLennan to the Region V North Tournament championship and an appearance in the NJCAA Division I national tournament… Batted .315 (35-for-111) with 8 doubles, 2 home runs, and 26 RBIs in 46 games… McLennan went 83-33 in her two seasons with the team.
PERSONAL: Saldivar is the daughter of Jimmy and Jenny and a sister to Karissa, Hannah, and Alissa. She played her high school softball at Wylie High School under Heather Damron. She played travel ball for the Texas Futures under Lupe Saldivar. She graduated in 2019 with her degree in Kinesiology from UT Tyler and is currently pursing a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She plans to become a physical education teacher and softball coach.. She chose UT Tyler for the beautiful campus and the outstanding softball program. She loves the way the team carries themselves in the classroom, on the field, and everywhere else they go. She is excited for that her future at UT Tyler holds.
