Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2021)
Started four games and appeared in 11 more. Hit one home run and drove in four on the season... Recorded four walks in just 15 plate appearances and had a .250 on base percentage.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2020)
Started all 20 games and batted .360 (18-for-50) with 11 runs, 3 home runs, and 12 RBIs on the season… Ranked fourth on the team in batting average and second in slugging percentage (.700)… Drew 7 walks and was hit by pitch a team-high 6 times… Notched 4 multi-hit games, including a pair of 3-for-3 performances… Was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, and 5 RBIs in the Patriots’ 17-15 win over No. 23 Arkansas Tech… Went 3-for-3 again in a 9-1 Lone Star Conference win over Texas Woman’s University… Batted a team-high .400 (8-for-20) in LSC play (8 games)… Earned Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition in the fall and spring semesters, helping UT Tyler claim the 2019-20 LSC Softball Academic Team Championship.

PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Played two seasons at Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz., where she earned All-American second team catcher from NFCA, Fastpitch Nation, and NJCAA Division I in 2019… Also collected NJCAA Region I Division I and NFCA West Region first team honors as well as All-Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) first team recognition… As a 2019 sophomore, batted .451 (79-for-175) with 21 doubles, 18 home runs, 69 RBIs and 66 runs to lead the Roughriders to a 46-14 season… Hit 7 home runs in a 17-day stretch encompassing 10 games… As a freshman in 2018, posted a .388 (54-for-139) average with 17 doubles, 7 home runs, 43 RBIs and 49 runs as Yavapai went 49-13… During her two years with Yavapai, the program posted a combined record of 95-27… Over her two-year career, batted .424 and registered 35 doubles, 25 home runs, 112 RBIs and 115 runs scored… Named Yavapai College 2018-19 student-athlete of the year.

PERSONAL: Brown is the daughter of Dwayne and Sherry and sister to Tori. She transferred to UT Tyler from Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona where she played two years as a catcher for coach Doug Eastman. Concluded her prep career by leading Aztec (N.M.) High School to a state title in 2017 after a state runner-up finish in 2016. She chose UT Tyler because of her love of the campus and the UT Tyler community. She is studying Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology and plans to become a personal trainer after graduation.
