Peyton McLemore recently completed his first season with the UT Tyler baseball program during the 2022-2023 year and serves as the pitching coach on staff.
McLemore joins the staff after serving as the Pitching Coach at McNeese State University from 2020-2022 and the Director of Player Development and Analytics in 2019 after a four year playing career for the Cowboys.

Under Coach McLemore during the 2022 season, McNeese led the Southland Conference in team ERA at 4.39. The Cowboys led the conference in strikeouts, saves, fewest home runs, lowest opponent's batting average, and fewest hit by pitches while also going a conference-best 34-23.

The Cowboys were regular season Southland Conference Champions in 2022 and in 2021 were the Southland Conference Tournament Champions. McLemore had an instrumental role in coaching the 2021 and 2022 Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year in Will Dion and Grant Rogers and the 2022 Relief Pitcher of the Year in Cameron Foster.

McLemore hails from Lake Charles, Louisiana where he pitched all four years at Sam Houston High School. He graduated from McNeese with a Bachelor's of Science in Education in Sports Management, and owns two Masters of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion.

During his playing career at McNeese, McLemore posted the second best K/9 mark at 9.36, and was fifth in opponent's batting average at just .245 and fourth in total appearances at 72. He had a career ERA of 4.32 and posted 127 strikeouts over 123 innings.
