High School: Graduate of Van HS in Van, Texas… Played baseball… Set single-season school records for wins and ERA… Holds career school records for strikeouts, innings pitched, and ERA… As a senior, earned 3rd Team All-State, 1st Team Academic All-State, and All-District MVP honors… Named All-District Pitcher of the Year as a junior… Played travel ball for the DFW Twins.

Personal: Son of Richard and Michelle Baetz… Has three siblings, an older brother and sister, and a younger sister… Majoring in Finance… Favorite hobby is golfing… Favorite drink is Coconut Red Bull… Interesting facts include visiting 23 Major League ballparks, being able to solve a Rubik’s Cube, and his family running a cattle operation… Chose UT Tyler because it felt like the perfect fit to grow both as a person and a player… Favorite thing about UT Tyler is how it feels like a family from the classroom to the baseball field, with everyone invested in helping you become your best.
