2018-19: Montoya was one of three Patriots to compete in all eight tournaments and 23 rounds over the course of the season. He was second on the team with a 76.17 strokes per round average and finished with three rounds at or under par. At the CA State Intercollegiate to open the season, Montoya carded a career-low 69 (-3) while his three-round 219 (+3) was his best performance of the season. At the end of the season, Montoya was named All-ASC Honorable Mention.
2017-18: During his first collegiate season, Montoya competed in 17 rounds and recorded an average of 75.59 strokes per round. On four occasion, he carded a round at par or better including a pair of rounds in the 60’s and a season-low 68.
