Personal: Son of Kyle and Kim Benson... Has two sisters, Izabella Benson and Brooke Benson... Majoring in biochemistry with plans to become an oral or orthopedic surgeon... Attended Whitehouse High School and Lubbock Christian University... Played men's soccer and football... Earned First Team All-District Kicker honors in football, Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, Second Team All-State and Academic All-State honors in both sports, as well as a Best Preps Award nomination... Played club soccer with FC Dallas 05/06 ECNL and FC Dallas East Texas... Has traveled to Croatia and Turks and Caicos and played high school football with Jermod McCoy, who currently plays in the NFL for the Las Vegas Raiders... Enjoys fishing... Favorite food is spaghetti... Chose UT Tyler for its strong academics, proximity to home, great soccer facilities and the people and staff... Favorite things about UT Tyler are the soccer field and rec center.
