Biography

2020: Played in 16 games, starting 13 times… Batted .263 (10-for-38) with 8 runs, 2 doubles, 4 walks, and 1 stolen base… Registered a hit in all 5 games of the UT Tyler Invitational tournament, and she scored 3 runs in the Patriots’ 17-15 win over No. 23-ranked Arkansas Tech during the tournament… Went 2-for-3 in an 11-8 extra-inning win over No. 14 Southern Arkansas… Batted 3-for-5 and scored 4 runs in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader at Midwestern State, which turned out to be the final games before the 2020 season was cut short… Earned Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition in the fall and spring semesters, helping UT Tyler claim the 2019-20 LSC Softball Academic Team Championship.

PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Played two seasons at Ranger College, leading the Lady Rangers in batting in both years while producing a two-year total of 74 extra-base hits… Was a two-time all-conference selection, earning second team infielder honors in 2018 before collecting first team catcher recognition in 2019… In 2019, batted .422 (70-for-166) with 28 doubles, 8 triples, 8 home runs, 46 RBIs, 50 runs with 15 stolen bases in 17 attempts… Stole 3 bases in a game against Blinn College and hit 2 home runs with 6 RBIs in a game against McLennan… As a 2018 freshman, batted .372 (61-for-164) with 17 doubles, 2 triples, 11 home runs, 35 RBIs, 45 runs, and 9 stolen bases in 11 attempts… Had two-year career average of .397 with career totals of 45 doubles, 10 triples, 19 home runs, 81 RBIs, 95 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases.

PERSONAL: Rodriguez is the daughter of Manuel and Laura, and sister to Alyza and Anyssa. She is a transfer from Ranger College where she played for two seasons after she was a four-time all-district player in high school for Edcouch-Elsa High School. She came to UT Tyler because she fell in love with the campus and was influenced by the traditions of the softball program. She is studying criminal justice and minoring in psychology.
