Biography

2018: Garcia was second on the team in batting average as a junior hitting .512 with 84 hits in 164 at-bats. Her batting average for the season broke the single season record by 12 points while she also broke the Patriots’ single season record for on-base percentage with a .562. Of her 84 hits, 22 went for extra bases including 18 doubles, three triples, and a home run. She drove in 33 runs while coming around to score a team-high 63 of her won batting near the top of the order. Both her hits and runs scored totals are the second-highest for a season in UT Tyler history. On April 14, Garcia tied the single game record with five runs scored against UT-Dallas. At the end of the season, Garcia was named First Team NFCA All-America and All-Region while also being named All-ASC.

PERSONAL: Garcia is the daughter of Isabel and Pedro and a sister to Brandon Garcia. Her mother ran tack at the University of Houston and her friend Laura Leonetti played softball at Brown University and played professionally with the New England Riptide and Texas Thunder. 
Garcia is studying Biology and plans to become a Physician's Assistant after her time at UT Tyler. She chose UT Tyler to further her education and be part of another incredible softball program. She loves the campus and the traditions set forth by those before her.
