2020: Appeared in 17 games, starting 15 times… Batted .162 (6-for-37) with 6 runs, 6 RBIs, and 1 double… Was a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts… Was 1-for-4 and scored twice in the Patriots’ wild 17-15 win over No. 23-ranked Arkansas Tech, which was the first of 4 UT Tyler victories over Top-25 opponents on the season… Earned LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition in the fall semester.
2019: Appeared in 25 games, all in reserve… Went 2-for-8 at the plate with a double and 3 RBIs… Scored 11 runs on the year and had 3 stolen bases… Went 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs in an 18-0 win over Howard Payne… Named to ASC All-Academic Team.
2018: Appeared in 39 games as a freshman, primarily as a pinch-runner… Stole 9 bases, which ranked second on the team, and scored 17 runs… Had 3 at-bats, recording a pair of hits.
PERSONAL: Smith is the daughter of Sean and Nicole and a sister to Cole. She played her high school softball at Clear Springs High School under Jennifer Knight. Smith is studying biology and plans to become a marine biologist after graduation. She chose UT Tyler for the coaching staff, facilities, and the team history. She knew UT Tyler was the place for her the moment she stepped on campus.
