Caitlin (Cronan) Petrich enters her sixth season as a UT Tyler women’s soccer assistant coach in the fall of 2020, assisting head coach Stefani Webb after playing four seasons for the Patriots (2011-14).
As a player and coach, Petrich helped UT Tyler post eight consecutive seasons with double-digit victories, and in 2019 she helped lead the program’s transition into NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference with a successful stretch run in the Patriots’ inaugural Division II season.
In 2019, Petrich helped lead UT Tyler to a successful stretch run in the Patriots’ first season of membership in the Lone Star Conference (NCAA Division II). Over the final two weeks of the season, UT Tyler reeled off a four-game unbeaten streak in LSC play with three shutout victories and an overtime draw to close out the year. UT Tyler finished the year 6-10-1 overall and 4-8-1 in the LSC, and Camri Cecil became the Patriots’ first student-athlete to receive an all-conference selection with her appearance as the All-LSC third team goalkeeper.
In her four previous seasons as a coach, UT Tyler competed in NCAA Division III and the American Southwest Conference, producing a 53-11-5 record over that four-year stretch with a 2015 NCAA Tournament appearance.
Petrich was a four-year starter for UT Tyler from 2011-14, leading the Patriots to a four-year record of 49-20-6. As a 2014 senior, she helped lead UT Tyler to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in women’s soccer after the Patriots also posted their first unbeaten conference record as an ASC member. She was a three-time academic all-conference selection.
Petrich graduated from UT Tyler in 2015 with a degree in health and kinesiology. She and her husband Joey, a former assistant coach for UT Tyler’s men’s soccer program, reside in Tyler with their daughter Piper (1).
