Nick Anthony just finished his 4th season with the UT Tyler track & field coaching staff in 2022-2023 after spending three seasons coaching at the collegiate level spanning Divisions I and II.
In addition to his coaching experience, Anthony is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach, along with certifications as an NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and NCSA Certified Personal Trainer.
In his first season at UT Tyler, Anthony helped the Patriots post top-10 team finishes (men ninth, women 10
th) at the program’s first Lone Star Conference indoor championship meet before the outdoor season was canceled due to the global coronavirus pandemic. UT Tyler was competing in NCAA Division II for the first time in program history as the university is in the midst of transition to NCAA Division II.
Anthony was a quarter-miler who ran four seasons of track and field at Eastern Washington University (NCAA Division I). He ran a leg of the 4x400 relay which ranks sixth on EWU’s all-time performance list. He competed in five Big Sky Championship meets.
He wrapped up his competitive career in 2016 before serving as a volunteer coach with Eastern Washington in 2016-17. For the next two seasons, Anthony was a graduate assistant coach focused on multis at Fort Hays State University, an NCAA Division II program which posted top-20 national men’s team finishes three times in four national championship meets during his time with the program. Fort Hays State produced 19 NCAA Division II All-Americans during his two seasons, including 10 (4 women, 6 men) at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Anthony graduated from Eastern Washington in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and finance, and he completed his master’s degree in movement and sport studies from Fort Hays State in 2019.
