THE HOME OF UT TYLER ATHLETICS

Kris Mashe

Kris Mashe recently finished his ninth season as the UT Tyler assistant volleyball coach in 2024-25 and will head into his 10th season as the assistant coach to his wife, Lyndsay.

Mashe has been an integral part in the success of the UT Tyler volleyball program, culminating in the program's four appearances in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, one for each year they have been Division II postseason eligible. He and his wife Lyndsay have made five straight appearances in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament, including two appearances in the semifinals and one in the finals (Spring 2021)

Mashe has been on the sidelines for all 163 of his wife Lyndsay Mashe's wins at UT Tyler, and has been a key part in helping coach Mashe become the program's all-time leader in career wins. The Mashe tandem led UT Tyler to a 44-5 overall record in the 2021 calendar year, spanning a 14-1 mark in the 2021 spring season and a 20-4 campaign in the traditional fall schedule. They earned the program's first postseason at-large bid into the 2021 Division II NCAA Volleyball National Tournament on the heels of a season in which UT Tyler earned 20 wins for the sixth time in the program's history, and finished second in the LSC standings with a league record of 15-2.

Mashe heads up the recruiting efforts for a Patriot program that has produced a total of 28 All-Conference selections during his tenure as assistant coach of the program. He also oversees the offensive system for UT Tyler that finished the 2021 spring and 2021 seasons ranked first and second in the LSC in team hitting percentage.

The 2019 season saw the Patriots competing against a Division II schedule for the first time in the program's second year of the mandatory three-year transition period to NCAA Division II status. UT Tyler finished that campaign 10-16, and featured the program's first All-Lone Star Conference selection in Kylee Becker.

2018 was a banner year for the Patriots as they matched the program record for wins in a single season (24) and finished no. 19 in the AVCA Division III National Rankings in the team's final season competing against a Division III schedule. The first two seasons of the Mashe era in 2016 and 2017 saw the Patriots go a combined 40-17 in the final two seasons competing at the Division III level, and had a total of 19 All-ASC selections.

Mashe joined the Patriots after serving 10 years at East Texas Baptist University alongside his wife Lyndsay. He will be beginning his 20th season in 2025 as an assistant coach to his wife Lyndsay Mashe.

A Longview, Texas, native Mashe attended the University of North Texas. He has more than 20 years of experience playing both outdoor and indoor volleyball. He and Lyndsay have one son, Brady, and a daughter, Peyton.
