Started all 53 games... Hit .258 with 14 extra base hits... Had 34 RBI and scored 36 runs... Had a .390 slugging percentage and OBP of .360... Stole 17 bases... Career leader in stolen bases for UT Tyler... Went 2-for-3 with 6 RBI, 1 run, and 2 extra base hits on 3/27/22 against UT Permian Basin.
AS A SENIOR (2021)
Appeared in and started 21 games... Hit .210 for the season... Scored 18 runs... Tied for a team-high with two triples... Recorded 11 RBI... Stole five bases in six attempts... Finished the season with an OBP of .347... Had 5 multi-hit games... Went 3-3 with a homer and 3 RBI against Eastern N. M. on March 12... Season cut short due to an injury.
AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Ranked second on the team with a .373 batting average... Led the team with 31 runs scored... Recorded a hit in all but four of his 22 games played in the COVID-19 shortened season... Had 12 multi-hit games... Tied for the team-high with 31 hits... Hit seven doubles in 22 games... Went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI against Eastern New Mexico on Feb. 14.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2019)
2019 All-ASC Team... Hit .326 with a team high 44 runs scored... Also recorded a team high 16 doubles... Started in all 38 games... Had 19 RBI... Led the team with 22 stolen bases in 24 attempts... Drew a team high 20 walks... Went 4-for-5 against Belhaven on Apr. 6... Scored five runs in that contest.
AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
NCAA DIII Championship All-Tournament team... Second on the team with a .375 batting average... In 40 contests, he recorded 45 hits including seven doubles... Scored 26 runs on the year... His on-base percentage of .449 lead the team among qualifying batters while Roach was third on the team with 16 stolen bases.
HIGH SCHOOL
Roach attended Whitehouse High School home of the Wildcats. He graduated high school in 2017. He played baseball under coach Derrick Jenkins. In high school he was awarded First-Team All District Infield, as a sophomore he was MVP. Roach helped take the Wildcats to State his junior year. He played baseball on the travel team the Texas Prospects and was coached under Jeff Casey. In college he was on the World Series All-Tournament team, Conference All-Tournament team, and helped lead the Patriots to the National Championship.
PERSONAL
Parents are Donny and Jenny Roach and sibling to Shelby Roach. His father David played baseball at Navarro College. Roach is majoring in construction management. He hopes to own his own construction company one day.
