Dr. Alexander Jacobsen, DO joins the UT Tyler Sports Medicine staff for the 2022-2023 year as a Sports Medicine Fellow to continue his education as a Sports Medicine Physician.Â
Dr. Jacobsen graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018 with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Following graduation, he completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency with the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.Â
Dr. Jacobsen in addition to his work is also a passionate community service worker. He received a pair of Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health (TOUCH) Silver Awards for community service hours in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, Dr. Jacobsen has volunteered at numerous events including the USA Judo Senior National Championship, Cowton Marathon, and the Texas Golden Gloves Tournament. He also served as the Westside High School Football Team Physician, Lancers Hockey Team Physician, Union Omaha Soccer Club Team Physician, and helped cover the NAIA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament.
