University of Texas at Tyler Athletics

Jackie Martin just finished her third year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations in 2023-24.

In her role, Martin oversees and manages all of the day-to-day facility request and needs for all  UT Tyler athletic facilities and oversees game day operations for all 17 intercollegiate athletic programs.

Martin joined the UT Tyler administrative team in October of 2021 after spending a year at Western Colorado University as the Athletic Operations and Facility Coordinator. At Western Colorado, Martin oversaw all athletic facilities and operations for 13 Division II athletic programs, and managed all game day operations for the department. 

Martin oversaw ticketing, concessions, and break-down of facilities as part of her role, and hired and managed the game day operations staff. She was the main liaison between the athletic department and the maintenance, grounds and residence life staff on campus, and also assisted with corporate partners and donating members of the Mountaineer Athletic Association.

Martin began her full-time career in collegiate athletics as a Facility, Events & Construction Assistant at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. During that time she assisted with all services related to the management of multiple athletic facilities and the event management of 18 Division I sports.

A former standout collegiate athlete at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, Martin served in multiple capacities within the athletic department while also competing on the softball team. She worked within the Athletic Events and Facilities team at Illinois College and also served as the Director of Football Operations for the Illinois College football program from 2017-2019.

On the field, Martin was a four-time First Team All-Midwest Conference Selection and was named to the 2018 NFCA Second Team All-Great Lakes Region. She helped lead Illinois College to four straight Midwest Conference Tournament appearances, and was apart of the two winningest teams in program history in both 2017 and 2018. 

Martin earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Sports Management Concentration in 2019 from Illinois College. She also completed an intern membership with the College Events and Facility Management Association.

Martin and her husband Brett currently reside in Tyler.
