The University of Texas at Tyler athletic department has announced the hire of Morgan McCrary as their new head strength and conditioning coach on June 12, 2025.
McCrary boasts over five years of experience at the Division 1, FCS, and high school levels. His previous experience includes work with Montana State Northern, Texas, Incarnate Word, Auburn, and D1 Training. He holds his bachelor's degree from Montana State Northern and his Masters of Kinesiology from Incarnate Word.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Coach McCrary, his wife Allison to the Pat Family,"
Dr. Sam Ferguson said. "His experience as a strength & conditioning coach speaks for itself, but I am even more impressed with the character and the energy he is bringing to UT Tyler. He will give our teams an advantage competitively through his passion in the weight room, but the character he models will give our student-athletes an advantage for the rest of their lives. Our mission is to mold our student-athletes into champions of character, champions of competition, and champions in their careers. Coach McCrary brings values to UT Tyler that are aligned with that mission!"
"I am ecstatic to begin my career as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at UT Tyler," Morgan McCrary said. "The atmosphere and culture that this institution provides is top of the line. The teams can expect me to put my best foot forward towards optimizing athletic performance within their student-athletes. I am truly blessed and honored for the opportunity to contribute my talents here at the university. I am looking forward to this next chapter."
