TYLER, Texas - The #17 UT Tyler Volleyball team hosted the second day of American Southwest Conference Crossover on Saturday. In their lone match of the day, UT Tyler defeated Concordia 3-1, improving to 19-1 overall.
The win pushes UT Tyler's win streak to 14 games while sweeping the crossover event. Saturday's win comes after a sweep of Howard Payne and a 3-1 win over #24 UMHB on Friday.
FIRST SET: #17 UT Tyler 25 - Concordia 23
With the first set tied at six, UT Tyler used a three-point run to pull ahead 9-6. The set would come even at 15 and 21 before the Patriots took a 23-21 lead that they would not surrender. UT Tyler and Concordia split the last four points of the set with UT Tyler winning 25-23.
SECOND SET: #17 UT Tyler 25 - Concordia 16
The Patriots would open the second set on a 6-2 run giving UT Tyler the early lead. The Patriots would not surrender the lead, opening a 12-point advantage late in the set, ahead 22-10. After scoring three of the last nine points, UT Tyler claimed the second set 25-16.
THIRD SET: #17 UT Tyler 22 - Concordia 25
A back and forth third set saw the Patriots and Tornadoes play to 10 ties throughout the set. After tying the game at 20, Concordia scored five of the final seven points to claim a 25-22 win, forcing a fourth set.
FOURTH SET: #17 UT Tyler 25 - Concordia 11
UT Tyler pulled ahead early in the fourth set behind an 8-2 run to open the set. Concordia would bring the set within two before UT Tyler opened a 14-8 lead. After the Patriots recorded the 14th point, a Tornado Warning in the area forced a 53 minute delay in the match. The Patriots would return from the delay to score six straight points, opening a 20-8 lead. UT Tyler recorded five of the final eight points to claim a fourth set win and their 19th win of the season.

The Patriots return to action on Tuesday, October 16th for Senior Night and Dig Pink Night inside the Herrington Patriot Center. UT Tyler will host East Texas Baptist at 7:00 p.m.
