TYLER, Texas - The #15 UT Tyler Men's Soccer team hosted Louisiana College on Thursday night. The Patriots defeated the Wildcats 4-1, improving to 11-1-2 overall this season.
Jose Poo opened the scoring for UT Tyler in the 16th minute of play with an unassisted goal. Poo worked around a clump of LC defenders before burying the shot to give UT Tyler a 1-0 lead.
Just under 16 minutes later,
Lucas Pereira would give the Patriots a 2-0 cushion in the first half. Poo played a ball to Pereira who netted his ninth goal of the season in the 32nd minute of play.
LC would bring the game within a goal in the 57th minute.
The Patriots would respond quickly, netting a goal just two minutes later.
Ramiro Alvarez played a ball from
Uriah Shipman into the back of the net for his second goal of the season. The 59th minute goal from Alvarez put UT Tyler ahead 3-1.
Uriah Shipman would cap the night for UT Tyler with a 61st minute goal that gave UT Tyler a 4-1 lead. Shipman played a ball from
Winner Assi for his first goal of the season.
The Patriots end the 2018 season at home on Saturday with a matchup against Belhaven. Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to the first kick which is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
