TYLER, Texas - The #23 UT Tyler Patriots hosted LeTourneau University in their home opener on Tuesday at the Herrington Patriot Center. The Patriots defeated LeTourneau 3-0 to move to 7-1 on the season.

The American Volleyball Coaches Associaton released the Week 2 National Division III Poll on Tuesday afternoon. Just hours before taking the court against LETU, UT Tyler was ranked as the nation's #23 team.
SET 1: #23 UT Tyler 25 - LETU 23
UT Tyler opened the night with a 25-23 first-set win over the Yellow Jackets.
Despite a back and forth set throughout, UT Tyler tallied the final three points of the first set to take a 1-0 advantage.
SET 2: #23 UT Tyler 25 - LETU 18
The Patriots opened the second set with the first four points. They would rally to add three straight, opening a 7-2 lead over LETU.
A third rally put UT Tyler ahead by seven at the sets midpoint (11-4).
Two more rallies of three-straight or more would lead to a 25-18 win for UT Tyler, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.
SET 3: #23 UT Tyler - LETU 18
LETU and UT Tyler played to a 10-10 draw through the midpoint of the third set before UT Tyler caught fire, opening a 21-13 lead late in the third.
Up 23-16, the teams would trade the final four points, leading to a third set win and a 3-0 sweep for UT Tyler.
