TYLER, Texas - The UT Tyler Men's Soccer team returned to action in front of home fans on Thursday night, hosting the nation's #13 team in Mary Hardin-Baylor. UT Tyler improved to 6-1-0 after defeating the Cru 1-0.
UT Tyler remained impressive in the 2018 season, winning their sixth straight game and upsetting #13 UMHB on Thursday night but it did not come without a fight.
UMHB and UT Tyler played 90 minutes of scoreless soccer before
Jose Poo played hero for UT Tyler in the first overtime period.
Poo netted his third goal of the season in 93rd minute off a rebound, propelling UT Tyler to the win.
Thursday's game saw UT Tyler out-duel UMHB in Shots with 14 (3 on goal) while the Cru put up eight (1 on goal). UT Tyler led in corner kick opportunities, taking six shots from the corner flag.
D'Anthony Miller was cautioned in 70th minute while UMHB received a caution in the 75th minute as action heated up late.

Kenny Jones commented on the victory, "We played a very good team tonight. We really had to fight hard throughout the game and maintain our focus. I'm very proud of the guys overall effort and perseverance. It was the difference tonight."
UT Tyler hosts Concordia on Saturday, September 22 on UT Tyler Family Day. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
