ABILENE, Texas - The UT Tyler Men's Soccer team traveled west to take on McMurry on Thursday night. The Patriots defeated the Warhawks 3-0, improving to 7-1-1 on the season.
Just one day after the Patriots cracked the USC NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Poll at #25, UT Tyler picked up their seventh win of the season.
After an even 44 minutes of play
Winner Asi netted UT Tyler's first goal of the night. Asi buried an unassisted goal to put UT Tyler up 1-0 in the 44th minute as the Patriots took a 1-0 lead into the half.
Lucas Pereira would net the Patriots second goal of the night in the 68th minute on Thursday. A pass from
Chris Stamm led to Pereira's seventh goal of the season. The goal gave Stamm his first assist of the season.
Jose Poo netted his fourth goal of the season in the 75th minute on Thursday, putting UT Tyler up 3-0.
Parker O'Quinn and
Giancarlo Ayanegui combined for the shutout on Thursday as Ayanegui picked up hist first win of the season after playing 65 minutes in goal.
UT Tyler will play one more game on the road trip on Saturday. The Patriots will take on Hardin-Simmons at 4:30 p.m.
