ABILENE, Texas - The UT Tyler Women's Soccer team took on McMurry University in Abilene on Thursday night. After a pair of home games, the Patriots defeated teh Warhawks 4-2 to move to 6-1-1 on the season.
McMurry would get on the board in the 25th minute in Thursday's match, carrying their lead to halftime.
The Patriots would respond 22 minutes into the second half, bringing the game even at one.
Landri Edwards would net the 67th minute goal for UT Tyler off an assist from
Korey Cyr. Cyr played a free kick into the box that Edwards would redirect into the back of the net.
Eight minutes later Cyr would net a goal for the Patriots, putting UT Tyler up 2-1. Cyr's 75th minute goal came off a shot in the center of the box off a pass from
Kiersten Ehler.
Gabi Garcia would put UT Tyler ahead 3-1 in the 82nd minute. Garcia would play a pass from
Landri Edwards into the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
McMurry would score two minutes later to bring the game within a goal before
Kiersten Ehler netted her second goal of the season, sealing a 4-2 win for the Patriots.
Ehler would score in the 89th minute to give the Patriots a two-goal cushion with less than a minute remaining. Ehler's goal came off a throw-in from Cyr that was headed over the keeper.
With the win, UT Tyler picked up their second straight win, improving to 6-1-1 on the season.
The Patriots will take on Hardin-Simmons on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
