RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Tyler Men's Basketball team took to the road to take on UT Dallas on Saturday. In the final road game of the season, UT Tyler fell to the Comets 78-91.
UT Tyler opened the game on an 11-4 run that spanned three minutes of play. The game would come even with just under 15:00 remaining at 13 points. UT Dallas would take back their early lead, taking a 50-38 lead into the half. UT Tyler would hit three shots from behind the arc in the first half, shooting 44% from the field.
The Patriots would put up 40 points in the second half. The Comets stretched their lead to 13 with a 41 point second. On the night, UT Tyler would shoot 42% from the field, hitting nine threes, six of which were in the second half.
Omar Mohamed recorded a team high 12 rebounds in the loss.
Tyrick Bennett scored 25 points, a season high.
Darius Alford finished with 19 points and three rebounds.
Chris Craig finished with 13 points while
Xavier Fogle tallied 10 points and three boards.
UT Tyler will close out the season at home with two games next week. UT Tyler will host Belhaven on February 14 and Louisiana College on Senior Day, Saturday, February 16.
