Box Score 4 DURANT, Okla. – After splitting its two Friday matches, UT Tyler closed out the Southeastern Classic with a pair of three-set sweeps to finish off a 3-1 weekend and improve to 5-3 heading into the Patriots' inaugural Lone Star Conference campaign.

The Patriots outlasted Colorado State-Pueblo for a five-set win in Friday's tournament opener before dropping its only match of the tournament to Southern Nazarene.  On Saturday, UT Tyler rolled to a pair of three-set sweeps, winning all six sets by an average margin of almost nine points against tournament host Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central (Okla.).

All-Tournament:Outside hitter
Kylee Becker was named to the all-tournament team, earning all-tourney recognition for the second consecutive week to start her true freshman campaign.  The 5-foot-9 Liberty Hill native tallied 38 kills with only nine errors to post a .257 hitting percentage over the four-match weekend, and she added six aces, nine blocks, and 46 digs.

Match 1 vs. Colorado State-Pueblo (W, 3-2: 25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 15-10):Sophomore
Hannah Callison posted a season-high 14 kills in UT Tyler's tournament opener, and
Kylee Becker added 11 kills to lead the Patriots, who won the first two sets by a combined five points.  Colorado State-Pueblo bounced back to win the third and fourth sets, but the Patriots rallied from an early 6-3 deficit in the fifth set to finish the match on a 12-4 run.  Becker got the run started with her 10
thkill of the match, and her 11
thkill was the game-winner as she closed out the 15-10 win. Becker and sophomore libero
Savannah Guzman led UT Tyler in digs with 15 each, and Guzman was one of the team's aces leaders along with sophomore setter
Taylor Stoops, as they registered three aces each.

Match 2 vs. Southern Nazarene (L, 0-3: 25-18, 25-19, 25-22):UT Tyler ran into a highly efficient Southern Nazarene offense in the second match of the opening day, as SNU posted a .290 attack percentage in the three-set sweep.  Sophomore middle blocker
Hattie Murray was the only Patriot to reach double-digit kills, finishing with 11 kills and one error in 18 attempts for a .556 hitting percentage in the match.  Guzman notched a team-high 14 digs, and senior middle blocker
Kayla McCoy served three aces.

Match 3 vs. Southeastern Oklahoma State (W, 3-0: 25-17, 25-11, 25-16): In the opening match of the second day of tournament action, UT Tyler's offense heated up quickly, posting a blistering .382 hitting percentage in the three-set sweep, including a 17-kill, 2-error performance (.556 attack percentage) in the final set.  Becker led the way with match-highs of 10 kills and 13 digs, and
Makenna Bartlett added three aces and eight digs. Sophomore setter
Taylor Stoops orchestrated the offense with a season-high 31 assists, and
Hattie Murray had a hand in four of the Patriots' six team blocks.

Match 4 vs. East Central (W, 3-0: 25-20, 25-19, 15-14):Taylor Stoops surpassed her season-high later in the day with 35 assists to set up an offense which continued its fast start by hitting .250 as a team with 44 kills against just 16 errors. Â
Kylee Becker finished with a match-high 10 kills, and she was one of five Patriots who had at least 11 attack attempts. Â
Hattie Murray finished with nine kills on 20 attempts, and
Savannah Guzman recorded a match-high 18 digs.

What's Next:UT Tyler meets Texas A&M International in its 2019 home opener, which is also the Patriots' Lone Star Conference opener, on Friday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.  Less than 24 hours later, UT Tyler hosts Texas A&M-Kingsville in a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
