Box Score CLINTON, MISSISSIPPI- The UT Tyler men's soccer team could not find their footing on offense and the defense couldn't hold off the Choctaws in a 4-0 defeat.
It took 70 minutes for either team to get on the board as both teams played strong defense throughout the match. It would be Noah Wagner in the 71
st minute that scored the game winner for the Choctaws.
In the first half, both teams combined for 11 total shots and just two of those would make their way on goal.
Bryan Rivas-Guzman led the Patriots with two shots in the first half, one of which came just three minutes into the match.
Michael Agyeman had the lone shot on goal in the first half for UT Tyler and that came at the eight minute mark.
Mississippi College finished the first half with eight total shots. Gonzalo Carrasco was the only shot on goal, forcing
Mathias Eriksen to make the save. In a slow offensive effort, the teams combined for only three corner kicks. Neither team had an abundance of quality chances in the first half.
In the second half of play, both teams combined for an additional nine shots. The Patriots put on the pressure early once again, with Agyeman taking a shot three minutes into the final period. Both teams played the first 20 minutes of the second half without getting one shot on target.

st minute, Wagner intercepted a pass and finished off the goal with a well placed shot over the right arm of Eriksen. The Choctaws would go on to score all four of their goals in a 10 minute stretch of the second half and pull away with the victory.
The Patriots will have a short turnaround as they welcome UT Permian Basin for their first Lone Star Conference match of the season. The match will kick off at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Citizens 1
st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. It will be Senior Day for the Patriots as they honor
