Women’s Tennis Claims Pair Of Road Wins To Remain Unbeaten

The UT Tyler women’s tennis team won two matches on the road Thursday to improve to 3-0 on the season

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- The UT Tyler women's tennis team claimed back-to-back road wins Thursday, beating Henderson State, 6-1, and Ouachita Baptist, 7-0, as the Patriots improved to 3-0 on the season.

Gaini Ibrasheva and Akshaya Suresh each won both of their singles and doubles matches on the day to help lead UT Tyler to victories in 5 of 6 doubles matches and 11 of 12 singles matches.
 

UT Tyler 6, Henderson State 1

The doubles point in the 6-1 win over Henderson State came down to a tiebreaker at the No. 2 doubles position, where Suresh teamed up with Chloe Dix for a 7-4 win in the tiebreak.

In singles play, Henderson State's only singles win came after set tiebreakers in both the second and third sets. Four of the Patriots' singles victories also required three sets, and Dnyanada Patil posted the only straight-sets win of the match with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at the No. 6 singles position.
