TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's basketball will meet Cameron inside the Aggie's home gym for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday.

UT Tyler will enter the weekend with an overall record of 0-9 (0-9 LSC) and will be looking to find a spark against a Cameron team that has dropped four out of their last five contests. The Patriots recently returned to play last weekend with losses at St. Mary's and at home against UT Permian Basin.

LAST TIME OUT

UT Tyler closed out the third quarter with a 16-5 run against UT Permian Basin on Wednesday night inside the Herrington Patriot Center, but ultimately failed to complete the comeback effort. That 16-5 run narrowed a 40-26 deficit to just 10 points entering the fourth quarter, but a seven-point final frame for the Patriots was not enough to secure the win on their home court, falling by a 67-52 final tally.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Cameron defeated UT Tyler in both meetings last season by final scores of 88-66 on Feb. 13 and 84-68 on Jan. 4.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES

Cameron has sputtered over the last few weeks after beginning the season 3-1. Guard Maighan Hedge, a perennial scoring threat in the Lone Star Conference, leads the team with an average of 17.3 points per game. She went for 25 points in Cameron's most recent win on Feb. 1 against UT Permian Basin.

Stephanie Peterson is the other Aggie to average double-digit scoring figures with an average of 11.8 points per contest.

LOTS OF LOCK

Tyreesha Blaylock scored a team-high 12 points on Wednesday night against UT Permian Basin, her first contest of the season with double-digit points. Blaylock ended the 2019-20 season on a streak of five consecutive games with 10 or more points and hopes that Wednesday night can get her back on scoring track for the remainder of her 2020-21 campaign.

SENIOR LEADERS

Seniors Azaria Reed and Kelsey Crouse were both extremely effective on Wednesday night against UT Permian as Reed totaled 11 points and Crouse led the squad with eight rebounds. Crouse leads the team on the year with an average of 5.0 boards per game, while Reed's 9.6 points per game effort also paces the Patriots.
