SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – #23 UT Tyler broke the program record for consecutive regular season wins and head coach
Lyndsay Mashe became the school's all-time wins leader thanks to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21) sweep of St. Mary's on Friday night.
The victory in the first Lone Star Conference road test of the season for UT Tyler made it 19 straight regular season wins dating back to the 2021 spring schedule, the longest streak in the program's 19-year history. Head coach

th career victory as head coach of the program, surpassing Suzanne Henson as the school's all-time leader in career wins.
Senior
Mikayla Ware had 18 kills and three blocks in route to 19.5 points for the match to lead the way for UT Tyler in their fourth 3-0 sweep of the 2021 season. Ware spearheaded late-set comebacks in both the first and third set wins for the night as UT Tyler moved to 7-0 on the year and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play.
Ware had 10 kills in the first set alone to lead the first Patriot comeback of the night after trailing 16-12 to open up the match. St. Mary's continued to expand their advantage into a 19-12 mark before the Patriots began their charge, finishing off the set with nine straight points.
UT Tyler scored 11 out of the 12 points to finish off the opening set, posting an attack percentage of .429 in the opening frame alone. The Patriots notched 18 kills in the first set, while Ware needed just 15 swings to post her 10 kills.
St. Mary's couldn't make a 5-0 run to open up set number two count as the Patriots used a 9-2 run following that hot start to gain an 11-8 lead. St. Mary's would go on to regain the lead just one more time throughout the rest of the set, leading to a 25-22 victory in favor of UT Tyler.
UT Tyler found themselves in a deep hole similar to the deficit they overcame in the first set win in the third and final frame, trailing 18-12 after an 11-3 run by St. Mary's. The Patriots once again came storming back, finishing the third set on an 11-3 run of their own to notch the 25-21 set win and their second straight Lone Star Conference sweep.
UT Tyler hit .258 for the match to better their season average, putting down 50 kills in 258 attacks for the match. The Patriot defense limited the Rattlers to just 33 kills and a .193 hitting percentage, out-digging St Mary's by a 58-to-50 margin.
Setter Taylor Swoops returned to the court for the Patriots on Friday night in style, recording one of two double-doubles for the night alongside Ware with 11 digs. Swoops matched Ware and Guzman for the team-high in digs, while fellow setter
Callie Craus led the way with 24 assists for the night.
Sophomore
Evelyn Torres posted nine kills on 23 swings while
Christina Escamilla and
Maiya Peña each notched seven.
The Patriots will finish up their road trip tomorrow afternoon with a 1 p.m. match against St. Edward's in Austin, Texas. UT Tyler is one of four teams who remain undefeated in Lone Star Conference play after the conclusion of Friday night's play.
