TYLER, TEXAS – DBU pulled away in the second half to claim a 75-60 victory over UT Tyler on Tuesday night inside the Herrington Patriot Center.
A game that featured eight lead changes and was tied at 36-36 with 51 seconds remaining in the first half turned all DBU in the second half of action. UT Tyler generated just 24 points of offense in the final 26 minutes of action, and fell to 11-5 on the year and 3-4 in Lone Star Conference play.

Soloman Thomas led the way with 13 points on the night, finishing the evening 6-for-15 from the field. Classmate
Da'Zhon Wyche totaled 10 points, all of which came in the first half of action.
The first half saw eight lead changes in the first 19 minutes of play before a 9-0 run for DBU in the closing 2:24 of the first half gave the Patriots a 41-36 lead at the halftime break. That 9-0 run to end the first half continued in the second half with a 13-3 run over the first five minutes of action to complete a total 22-3 run in favor of DBU over the course of eight minutes of game time.
That run to close out the first half and begin the second half allowed DBU to pull away in the second half of action, leading by as many as 20 at the 63-43 mark with 12:00 remaining on the clock.
UT Tyler finished the night 25-of-61 (41.0 percent) from the field and 6-for-27 (22.2 percent) from beyond the three-point line. DBU connected on 29-of-58 (50.0 percent) from the field and scored 24 points off of UT Tyler turnovers.
UT Tyler held the advantage in the rebounding department with 37 boards on the night while DBU finished with 32. Freshman
Kyle Frelow led the Patriots with seven rebounds and chipped in eight points, while junior
Paul Djoko totaled six points and six rebounds.
UT Tyler will be back in action on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. against Texas A&M International to continue a three-game homestand inside the Herrington Patriot Center.
