BACK IN ACTION
UT Tyler will get back to work on their season after the long break for the Christmas holiday. The Patriots are on a roll, winners of their last four games, all of which against LSC competition. In those last four games, the Patriots have forced their opponents into 20 or more turnovers three times, under 40% shooting three times, and under 24% shooting from three on three different occasions.
HOLDING STEADY IN REGIONALS
The Patriots are still seventh overall in the D2SIDA South Central Regional Rankings, with the most recent edition of those rankings coming out on December 20
th. The most recent poll saw a massive shakeup across the top 10, and five other teams are receiving votes.

THE SCOUTING REPORT
This week sees a slight break from the norm in the Lone Star Conference as this weekend's games will take place on Friday and Sunday. Friday night will see UT Tyler head to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for a matchup with Oklahoma Christian inside Payne Athletic Center.
The Eagles are 1-8 on the season so far but are coming off of their first win of the season on December 19
th where they took home a 65-48 victory over UAFS on their home floor. They rank as the number one team in the LSC in offensive rebounds per game, and are also top five in turnovers forced per game, steals per game, and total rebounds per game. The big hitter is that the Eagles are second in all of Division II in free throw attempts per game, but rank 224
th in free throw percentage.
Leading the way for Oklahoma Christian is 2021-2022 2
nd Team All-LSC selection Brooklin Bain, who is averaging 14.3 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game while leading the team in steals.
Coaching the Eagles is Markeith Brown, who is in his first season as head coach after serving seven seasons at Texas A&M-Commerce as an assistant. Brown was named the TABC Small College Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 and the NCAA Division II World Exposure Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020.
On Sunday afternoon, the Patriots take on UAFS in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Lions are 3-8 on the year and 1-4 in LSC play thus far. Their lone LSC win came against Angelo State on December 8
th and also serves as their most recent victory as they are riding a two game losing streak.
The Lions are fifth in the LSC in free throw percentage, and also rank in the top 10 across the conference in three point percentage defense, three point percentage, and blocks per game.
Aaliyah Prince has been the driving force for UAFS so far this season, averaging 14.6 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game while leading the team in assists and steals and ranking third in blocks.
Coaching UAFS is Ryan McAdams. McAdams is in his second season at the helm after leading the Lions to a record of 7-18 and a 4-10 record in the LSC. Previous to working with UAFS, McAdams served as an assistant coach at New Mexico State.
NEXT UP
Following this weekend's action, the Patriots return home to the Herrington Patriot Center for matchups against St. Edward's and St. Mary's. It will be a big day for festivities as Mascot Madness will take place against St. Edward's and Youth Day will take place against St. Mary's.
