ARLINGTON, TEXAS – #18 UT Tyler battled hard with UT Arlington but were unable to bring home the victory on Sunday afternoon as they fell by a score of 5-2.
The doubles pair of
Joaquin Bianchi and
Gonzalo Fernandez Gil teamed up to continue their season undefeated as they won their match against Alan Sau Franco and Maks Lukman by a score of 6-4.
Moritz Mayer and
Leon Sell paired up for a victory of their own as they took down Daichi Akiyoshi and Miguel Cabrera by a score of 6-4. That gave the Patriots the two out of three victories they needed to secure the doubles point and move to singles leading 1-0.
It was the singles end of the match wear the Mavericks flipped the script on UT Tyler.
Safar Rasulov was the lone victory for the Patriots in singles as he took down Lukman by a score of 6-4, 6-4.
Cabrera took down Fernandez Gil in a tight contest that resulted in scores of 7-6, and 6-1. Mayer battled with Ricardo Alban, but fell by a score of 7-5, 6-1.
Sau Franco faced off against Bianchi and came up with revenge after the doubles lost with set scores of 6-1, 6-0.
Egor Shestakov and
Jonas Dixon were the final two singles competitors for the Patriots, but they fell by scores of 6-2, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-4, respectively.
