Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – UT Tyler battled with #3 Central Oklahoma on Sunday morning, but it was the Bronchos who came away with the 6-1 victory once the dust had settled.
In the doubles portion of the match, the pairs of
Delara Zamani and
Leony Deutschmann and
Brooklyn Ross and
Kanika Sivaraman each fell by scores of 6-1. The duo of
Chloe Dix and
Chloe Chawner put up a spirited fight, but they fell to the Bronchos by a set score of 7-5.
After a short break, both teams set their lineups for singles play and the Patriots looked for a bounce back. With the doubles point in hand, #3 Central Oklahoma was able to claim victory in the contest after wins in the #1, #2, and #3 slots in singles.
Zamani fell by set scores of 6-0, 6-2, and Ross dropped her match in straight sets with consecutive scores of 6-0. In the deciding match,
Tanvikhaa Saravanan came out swinging, but ultimately fell by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
Dnyanada Patil also joined Saravanan in singles after not competing in doubles. She played a spirited match but dropped straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-3.
Leony Deutshmann claimed the lone victory of the day for UT Tyler. She won in dominating fashion in her match, dropping just one game over two sets.
Chloe Chawner forced a third set tiebreaker in her matchup after splitting the first two sets 2-6, 6-3. However, she went down by a score of 10-6 in the tiebreaker.
The Patriots women with travel with the men's program next Sunday, Feb. 13, for a contest against UT Arlington. The women's contest will be an exhibition and the men will play theirs as an official match. The next official contest for the women's program will be on Feb. 18 against RV Harding. That will be a neutral site contest at Lovejoy HS in Dallas, Texas.
