LAST TIME OUT

The Patriots closed out their non-conference slate with a pair of wins over Arlington Baptist and Southern Arkansas just prior to the Christmas holiday as they looked near dominant in both games.

The Patriots shot 56.6% against Arlington Baptist and all 14 players that saw action scored in a huge 50 point win. 68 of their 92 points came in the paint and they led by double digits in 35 minutes of action.

Against the Muleriders, they put up a 50-28 rebounding margin and racked up 16 steals as they put away the Muleriders for the third season in a row and second time inside the Herrington Patriot Center.

ANOTHER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

For the first time since becoming members of the Lone Star Conference, UT Tyler picked up an LSC Offensive Player of the Week honor as Tina Machalova won the award for a dominant performance against the Muleriders. She scored a season high 21 points with 10 of those coming in the fourth quarter. She finished the game 7-for-14 from the field and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc while also grabbing seven rebounds.

AROUND THE LONE STAR CONFERENCE

After the initial slate of games for the conference, the Patriots and Texas Woman's remain the only two teams with a perfect start, as each team is 4-0. Running right behind them is a four way tie at 3-1 made up of UT Permian Basin, Lubbock Christian, Angelo State, and West Texas A&M. Just three teams have reached the 10 win mark thus far, UT Tyler, Texas Woman's, and Texas A&M International.
