SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Tatum Goff and
Shea O'Leary both tossed complete game shutouts to extend the #3 UT Tyler winning streak in 3-0 and 4-0 wins over St. Mary's on Tuesday afternoon.
Goff and O'Leary pitched 14 shutout innings, and combined to allow just five hits on the day while the UT Tyler offense hit three homers throughout the afternoon against a talented pitching staff for the Rattlers. Goff struckout six in her 7.0 innings in the circle in game one and O'Leary fanned two batters and allowed just four base runners in the ballgame in game two.
The wins are no. 15 and no. 16 in a row for the Patriots, who extend their overall record to 39-4 on the year and 27-2 in Lone Star Conference play with the victories.
UT Tyler scored runs in the second, third and fifth innings to provide offensive support for Goff in game one. The Rusk, Texas native allowed just two Rattlers to reach scoring position throughout the ballgame, and moved to a perfect 25-0 on the year with the win.

Audrey Escamilla, who led off the inning with one of her two hits in the game.
Junior
Michelle Arias hit a solo homer in the third with two outs on the board to make it 2-0, and sophomore
Sam Schott came around to score after a leadoff walk in the fifth on a fielding error by the Rattlers.
Goff worked around a pair of baserunners in the sixth and then retired the Rattlers in order in the seventh to close out the 3-0 victory for the Patriots.
Escamilla went 2-for-3 and drew a walk to lead the offense for the Patriots that needed just five hits to total their three runs in the effort.
It was more of the same in the circle for UT Tyler in game two as O'Leary got the start and retired the first 11 batters she faced in order. The Castaic, Calif. native worked around leadoff singles in the fifth and seventh innings to allow just a single base runner to reach scoring position for the entirety of the contest.
O'Leary allowed just three hits and conceded a single walk to move to 10-2 on the year on what is now her sixth straight complete game in as many starts.
Sophomore
Sam Schott drove in classmate
JT Smith in the third on an RBI single to break the scoreless tie. Senior
Hannah Kinkade hit the second homer of the day for the Patriots in the top of the fourth after coming on as a pinch-hitter, a two-run homer that made it 3-0.
Sophomore
Maddie Melton stayed hot at the plate with a solo homer in the top of the sixth, her fifth homer in as many games, to bring the score to it's eventual 4-0 final.
UT Tyler totaled seven hits in game two in a game in which Schott and Melton both provided multi-hit efforts.
The Patriots will seek a seventh straight 3-0 Lone Star Conference sweep in tomorrow's series finale, scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
