PORTALES, N.M. - #3 UT Tyler hit three homers and totaled five extra-base hits to run-rule Eastern New Mexico by an 8-0 final in five innings on Sunday afternoon.

The Patriots scored four runs in the first inning and kept the pressure on the Greyhounds throughout the ballgame to extend their win streak to 14 straight as well as a sixth straight Lone Star Conference series sweep. Junior
Courtney Plocheck with 2-for-2 with a double and a homer to lead the way offensively for UT Tyler, while starting pitcher
Tatum Goff tossed a complete game to move to 24-0 on the year.

Plocheck was joined by
Audrey Escamilla and
Avery Farr with two-RBI in the ballgame, while Farr, Plocheck and
Maddie Melton each homered. Melton's solo homer in the fifth inning was her fourth of the weekend in a series in which the Patriots hit nine total home-runs as a club.

UT Tyler has now hit three homeruns as a unit in four straight outings.

Plocheck and Escamilla opened the scoring in the top of the first with a pair of doubles, the latter of which was a two-RBI extra-base hit for Escamilla to make it 3-0. Junior
Amanda Marek then scored Escamilla in the ensuing at-bat with an RBI single to put run number four on the board for the Patriots.

Plocheck then leadoff the third with a solo homer to make it 5-0 before Melton and Farr hit homers in the fifth to put the run-rule into effect at 8-0, Melton's a solo shot and Farr's a two-run homer. Â

Goff struckout five in her 5.0 complete innings of work, scattering four hits and walk to keep her unbeaten record in 2023 in-tact.

Escamilla and Farr both finished 2-for-3 on the afternoon as UT Tyler posted eight hits as a club.

The win moves UT Tyler's overall record to 37-4 on the year and 25-2 in Lone Star Conference play. The Patriots hold a two-game advantage atop the LSC regular season standings.

UT Tyler will return home for a series against Texas A&M-Kingsville scheduled for Thursday and Friday afternoon.
