CANYON, TEXAS – The UT Tyler track and field program concluded competition in the Jo Meaker Classic and Multis with school records from both
Nathan Williams and
Ashton Turner.
Turner claimed victory in the 400 meters hurdles with a time of 52.70, breaking the UT Tyler outdoor track and field record in the process. Williams placed 13
th in a competitive 100-meter race, recording a school-record time of 10.46.
Turner's time in the 400-meter hurdles time improves his NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Williams added a 19
th place finish in the 200-meter race with a time of 21.51 to cap off his great day on the track.
Freshman
Charlisa Teagle notched a top-five finish with a time of 2:29.71 in the 800-meter run, while senior
Brooklyn House matched the fifth-place finish with a throw of 40.55 meters in the discus throw.
Freshman Mthabisi Mpofu jumped a personal-best 7.04 meters in the long jump to finish ninth.
UT Tyler track and field will return to the track on April 22
nd at the Fred Duckett Invitational in Houston, Texas.
