Box Score SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – UT Tyler fell by an 87-69 final at St. Mary's to wrap up their weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon.
St. Mary's (6-8, 2-6 LSC) went 12-for-24 (50.0 percent) from three-point range and maintained a 10-plus point lead for the final 15 minutes of the second half. Junior
Bryce Roberts led the way for the Patriots with 16 points and served as the lone contributor to reach double-digit scoring numbers for UT Tyler (2-12, 1-7 LSC).
The Patriots couldn't keep pace with an efficient long-range shooting output for the Rattlers, making just 2-of-18 (11.1 percent) from three-point land as a team.
St. Mary's led by as many as 27 after opening a 43-30 lead at the halftime break. The Rattlers went 8-for-15 from three-point range in the first half and maintained sole possession of the lead for the final 15 minutes of the half.
UT Tyler opened the second half on a 10-5 run in the first five minutes of play to cut the deficit to it's smallest margin of the second half at 48-40 with 16:54 remaining. An onslaught of offense for the Rattlers ran the differential up to 22 at 64-42 with 13:27 remaining, and then eventually to the aforementioned 27-point advantage at 80-53 with 7:41 left.
UT Tyler shot 43.3 percent (26-for-60) from the field as a team and won the rebounding margin by a 34-to-32 final tally. Guard
John Barbee led the Patriots with five rebounds and finished his afternoon with eight points.

UT Tyler will return home next weekend for home games on Thursday and Saturday against Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
