Patriots Set Multiple Offensive Program Records in 10-0 Drubbing of Sul Ross State

UT Tyler women's soccer totaled the most goals of the Division II era, recorded the most assists in a game in program history and had the highest individual point total produced in a 10-0 victory over Sul Ross State on Wednesday night

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's soccer posted multiple offensive program records in a 10-0 victory over Sul Ross State on Wednesday night.

The Patriots notched the highest goal total of their Division II era and matched the second highest goal total in a game in program history. UT Tyler recorded 12 assists on those 10 goals, the highest assist total in a single game in the history of the program.

The 10 goals marks the second time this season the Patriots have totaled their highest goal total of the Division II era after putting up nine in the 9-0 victory over Jarvis Christian at the beginning of the year.

Junior Brooke Mullins scored a hat trick in just over 15 minutes to start the game, scoring in the 5th, 8th and 16th minute to become the 11th Patriot to score three goals in a single game. She added two assists on the other five goals scored by UT Tyler in the first 16 minutes of the game to notch the highest individual point total in a single game with eight.

The 32 points for UT Tyler with 10 goals and 12 assists matches the highest point total in a game in program history as well.

The historic offensive effort was a group effort as Mullins and Brooklyn Robinson each scored multiple goals and eight different Patriots recorded an assist in the effort. Mullins, Marin Love, Alyssa Palisi and Audrey Varney all chipped in with two assists.

Mullins found the net twice in the first 10 minutes of the game off assists from Launa Torrez and Natalie Jones and then returned the favor for a Torrez goal in the 12th minute, assisting the effort for the 3-0 lead for UT Tyler. Junior Melissa Oliveira made it 4-0 less than a minute later, putting home Mullins' second assist of the night.

Mullins then etched her name at the top of the Patriot record books with her eighth point on the hat trick in the 16th minute, extending the advantage to 5-0 in favor of UT Tyler. Senior Jacqueline Wiebe completed the first half scoring in the 29th minute with a goal on an assist from Samaris Alvarado.

Palisi, who finished the night with four points of her own alongside Robinson, added goal number seven of the night in the 63rd minute. UT Tyler put three more goals in the back of the net in the final 10 minutes of play, the final two from Robinson in the 86th and 88th minute, capping off the 10-0 victory.

UT Tyler moved to 9-2-3 on the year and 4-2-3 in Lone Star Conference play with the win.

In total, 11 different Patriots scored a point, seven different Patriots scored a goal and 16 different Patriots recorded a shot.

UT Tyler will travel to West Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon for an 11 a.m. first kick.
