KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – UT Tyler men's and women's cross country posted another strong run at the LSC Championships behind the efforts of
David Soto and
Macy Cogburn leading each program.
David Soto put together one of his best runs of the year yet again, and this time he posted his best finish of his career at the LSC Championships. Soto would finish seventh overall at the event, running a time of 24:29.11 in the 8K to lead the Patriots. That run will also solidify his spot as an All-LSC runner.
Behind Soto came the trio of
Jacob Berryhill,
Alejandro Rosales, and
Aaron Smith who would finish just over 25 seconds apart from one another. Berryhill led that pack with a 25
th place run, running a time of 25:31.22. Rosales clocked a time of 25:38.78 in his race, earning 29 points for the Patriots. The final runner in the trio,
Aaron Smith, ran a time of 25:56.75 to place 34
th overall and earn 34 points.
The final scoring runner for the Patriots was
Brandon Jimenez. Jimenez placed 41
st overall and earned 41 points as he ran a time of 26:23.12.
As a team, the Patriots picked up 136 points on the day, finishing just 24 points outside of fifth place DBU. They also finished 34 points clear of 7
th place Cameron on the day.

th).
Over on the women's side, freshman
Macy Cogburn continued to put together a stellar season, as she led the program at the LSC Championships on Saturday as they finished 8
th overall with 181 points.
Cogburn ran a time of 22:33.39 on the day, good enough for a 20
th place run and 19 points for the Patriots. That run marks the second straight year that a newcomer has been the top runner for the program at the LSC Championships.
Right behind Cogbrun was a solid trio of Patriots as they finished just 16 seconds apart from each other.
Finley Hunting led that pack, finishing 34
th overall and scoring 32 points with a time of 23:11.03.
Kailynn Denney would be just over 10 seconds behind as she ran a time of 23:21.17 to finish 40
th overall and earn 40 points. The final runner in that pack would be
Gracie Ladner, as she earned a 45
th place finish and 43 points after running a time of 23:26.96.
The final scoring runner for the Patriots was
Zoey Broaddus, as she ran a time of 23:46.69 on the day to place 53
rd overall and earn 51 points.
As a team, the Patriots scored 181 total points, 75 more than ninth place Angelo State and just 22 points behind Cameron for seventh.

UT Tyler will now set their sights on the NCAA South Central Regional Championships that will take place November 9
