LAST TIME OUT
Â
The Patriots most recently took on then #1 Texas Woman's in their LSC opener on Saturday afternoon. It was a tightly contested affair, but the Patriots held steady in the waning moments and pulled away for a huge 10 point win. That win is the third for head coach
Rebecca Alvidrez over a top five nationally ranked opponent, and continues the Patriots best start to a season in the Division II era.
Â
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Â
After her big outing on Saturday,
Meagan Mendazona earned the LSC Offensive Player of the Week award. She dropped 22 points on the #1 ranked Pioneers, shooting 50% from the floor and knocking down a pair of three pointers. She added seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, including six in the final 25 seconds.
Â
NATIONALLY RANKED
Â
The Patriots vaulted up the rankings this week after their big win, moving to T-10 in the D2CSC Poll and #23 in the WBCA Top 25. The Patriots are now back inside the top 10 of the D2CSC Poll for the first time since the final poll of the 2022-2023 season in which they also ranked #10 after making it to the NCAA Elite Eight.
