LAST TIME OUT
 
Last week saw the Patriots face off with Wiley, and the Patriots used a dominant second half to pull away. At one point, they went on a 17-0 run that included points from five different players and 14 of those coming in the paint as the Patriots ran out to a big lead they would never relinquish. Akok Machar and Dontrell Hewlett combined for 35 points in the big night and the Patriots third straight win.
 
HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS IN THE HPC
 
On Wednesday, the Patriots will host Holiday Hoopla inside the Herrington Patriot Center. There will be free cookies and hot chocolate, as well as an ugly sweater contest and various competitions throughout the evening. Additionally, there will be photo opportunities with Santa in the HPC lobby.
 
On Friday night, the Patriots are partnering with the UT Tyler Police Department for their annual Toy Drive Night. It will be free admission for anyone who brings an unwrapped toy for donation to those in need this holiday season.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
 

• The Patriots have now won three straight games, equalling their total from the 2023-24 season. One of those is a win over Regis, which doubles as an in-region victory and a win over the team picked third in the preseason RMAC poll.
• Head coach Tim Moser is in his second season as head coach of the program. Moser returns to the men's side of the collegiate game after serving as the Associate Head Coach for a remarkable turnaround within the UT Tyler women's basketball program.  As a head coach, Moser holds a 517-203 career record and has won 13 conference championships en route to 12 conference or region coach of the year accolades. Combined with his totals as an assistant coach, Moser has coached 20 conference championship teams during his storied career. He has served as head coach on the men's side at Eastern Wyoming College from 2018-2021 and at Otero Junior College from 1998-2005. He went 150-33 (.828) over six seasons as head coach of the women's side at Alaska-Anchorage from 2006-12. 
• In the early going, the Patriots are putting together a dominant defense at the national level. They rank 5^th nationally in field goal percentage defense, 11^th in three point percentage defense, and 12^th in scoring defense.
• Individually, Dontrell Hewlitt ranks inside the top five in the LSC in assist/turnover ratio (3^rd), blocks per game (4^th), and field goal percentage (4^th). Nikolas Gustavson ranks third nationally in three point percentage, knocking down the deep ball at a 59.3% clip thus far.

 
CHAPS NOTES AND TRENDS

• Lubbock Christian will head into Wednesday's contest at a record of 5-3 and 1-1 in LSC play. They have an LSC win over St. Edward's, and a ranked win over #8 Colorado School of Mines. They are winners of their last two games, taking down UT Dallas and Arlington Baptist.
• The Chaps are averaging 84.4 points per game as a team on an impressive 50.6% shooting and 45% from beyond the arc. They hold their opponents to 70.4 points per game on 46% shooting and 35.7% from beyond the arc.
• Four players average double figures for the Chaps, led by Amondo Miller Jr. He is averaging 15.8 points per game on 45% shooting and 43% from beyond the arc. He is leading the team in blocks and is second in both assists and steals.
• They are coached by Todd Duncan, who is in his 14^th season with the program. He holds a record of 249-137 overall, all with the Chaps.

 
MUSTANGS NOTES AND TRENDS

• Midwestern State currently holds a record of 5-1 and 2-0 in the LSC. They have their LSC wins over St. Mary's and St. Edward's and also have regional wins over UCCS, Western Colorado, and Adams State.
• The Mustangs are averaging 78 points per game on 44% shooting and 40% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are averaging 72.7 points per game on 39% shooting and 33% from beyond the arc.
• They have three players averaging double figures, led by Mason Gibson at 18.8 points per game. He is shooting 44% from the floor and 40% from deep, and he leads the team in steals and is second in assists.
• Head coach Justin Leslie is in his 18^th season of his career and 6^th with the Mustangs. He holds a record of 68-73 during his time with Midwestern State, and is 334-194 overall.
