LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots women have fought it out in just one contest on the young season, with that match resulting in a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Mississippi College. In that match,
Muskan Gupta shined as she and her doubles partner
Allison Schwartz earned a victory before Gupta went on to win a 6-3, 6-0 straight sets decision in her singles match.
The Patriots were originally scheduled to take on Harding on Saturday afternoon, but the forecasted rain for the area in Mississippi forced the postponement of that match.
TOUGH ROAD AHEAD
Saturday's match will kick off a six match homestand for the Patriots, and in that homestand the Patriots will face four opponents associated with the ITA Top 25, with two of those being #7 West Alabama and #18 Auburn Montgomery.
The road from there doesn't get any easier, as the Patriots will play at a pair of neutral site events where they face three more opponents associated with that top 25 ranking.
In LSC play, four more teams are associated with the top 25, including #8 Cameron and #13 St. Mary's.
THIS WEEK'S ACTION
This week will see UT Tyler take on Ouachita Baptist, who sits at a record of 2-1 on the season. They have taken on a pair of LSC foes in DBU and UAFS, taking the win over UAFS 4-0 and dropping the affair to DBU by a score of 4-3. Their lone other win came by a score of 4-3 over Christian Brothers.
The Tigers are led by Sadbaroy Kholdarova, who holds two wins in the #2 slot thus far. In doubles, it is Austynn Crocker and Natalia Zamora Caprirolo, who hold the lone win in the #1 slot.
NEXT UP
Following this weekend, the Patriots will next play host to (RV) Southern Arkansas and (RV) Central Oklahoma on February 23 and 24. Those matches will each begin at 10 a.m. at the Summers Tennis Center.
