LAST TIME OUT
UT Tyler came out on the wrong side of a 55-47 defensive battle against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday night. Both teams failed to register a shooting percentage greater than 30 percent in the ballgame as both defensives shined throughout the entirety of the contest. The 55 points are the fewest conceded by UT Tyler in Lone Star Conference play this year. On the contrary, the 47-point total for the Patriot offense is the lowest output of the conference schedule for the unit. FreshmanÂ
Jesse Fuller nearly notched double-double figures for the first time in his UT Tyler career, matching the team high with nine points and leading the rebounding effort with 10. JuniorÂ
Bryce Roberts matched Fuller with those nine points, while forwardÂ
Juan Pablo Camargo added eight points and six rebounds.
Texas A&M International controlled the second half of action in order to hand UT Tyler a 64-56 loss on Saturday afternoon. GuardÂ
Bryce Roberts poured in 20 points and freshmanÂ
Jesse Fuller went for a career high 14 points for the Patriots, but Texas A&M International held the lead for the final 22 minutes of gametime. UT Tyler's last lead came with 3:14 remaining in the first half at 28-27, but a 9-2 run over the remainder of the opening half drew the halftime to a close with the Dustdevils ahead 36-30. UT Tyler led by as many as five just over halfway through the first 20 minutes of play at 16-11 with 9:44 remaining. The Dustdevils connected on 12-of-24 (50 percent) from the field and 6-of-15 (40.0 percent) from beyond the three-point line in the first half.
