LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend, UT Tyler went on the road for the final trip of the regular season, and came away with one of their most impressive 2-0 trips of the year. They took down Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday night behind the trio of Tina Machalova, Destini Whitehead, and Ella Bradley scoring 51 of 58 Patriots points.

Against #25 Texas A&M International on Saturday, the Patriots battled back and forth with the Dustdevils for nearly the entire contest before a 15-11 fourth quarter in UT Tyler's favor would seal the victory and give the Patriots their third top 25 win of the year.

WHAT COACH ALVIDREZ IS SAYING

On the big road weekend: "Yeah I'm really proud of this team to be able to go down and win two on the road. We knew it would be a tough challenge and we had really good second halves, especially against Texas A&M-Kingsville. To be able to go and sweep the series against both teams is really exciting for the program."

On what the team needs to do for the next step: "We tell them this is their team. If they have the right attitude and they're hungry enough then we can see what will happen. Our job is to prepare them and just try to extend the season one game at a time."

On this weekend's matchups: "Hopefully we are playing our best and we're trending the right way. We're a little unfamiliar with each other but I'm glad we are playing at home. We're just going to focus on what we can do and take it one game at a time."

PLENTY TO PLAY FOR

With three games left in the LSC season, the Patriots sit just one game back of Texas Woman's who holds the top spot in the league. The Patriots hold their destiny in their hands, as winning their last three games would put them in a tiebreaker with Texas Woman's. In that scenario, the Patriots would become LSC Co-Champions, and hold the top seed in the Lone Star Conference Tournament that takes place March 8-10.
